Clara olakunbi Dawodu was born and raised in Nigeria in the city of Lagos by Nigerian parents who were both teachers. She attended Saint Catherine’s Primary School and Queen’s College Lagos.

She proceeded to the University of Jos where she studied medicine from 1985 to 1991. After a stint as a medical officer she commenced her postgraduate studies in Lagos University Teaching Hospital Idi – araba in April 1995. She obtained her FMCP(Neurology) in 2002.

A fellow of the National Postgraduate Medical College, she inaugurated the Neurology Unit Department of Internal Medicine, Lagos State Teaching Hospital and College of Medicine in January 2004. She is presently a Senior lecturer in the department of internal medicine, Lagos State University College of Medicine, Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria.

Clara Olakunbi Dawodu continued her quest for knowledge as a clinical attaché in the following hospitals: National Hospital For Neurology And Neurosurgery Queen Square London, Summer 2003; University Of Virginia, USA, Winter 2005; Mayo Clinic Florida, Autumn 2012; and Royal Melbourne Hospital, Winter 2014.

She has attended and participated in seminars and conferences both Nationally and Internationally. Her core research interests are strokes, medical paraplegias and central nervous system infections. Dr. Clara is also interested in alternative therapies.
